By next month 100 trains will be added to Rialway Network. The assistant director of Ministry of Road & Transportation, in interviewing with the Growth & Development Program said:

“By the end of the third Economical Development Program of the Government 1500 kms railways will be added to the  Railway Network. It provides us to have access to the further areas and makes distances shorter”.

With reference to the big project of Mashhad - Bafgh Rilways in order to connect Central Asia to Free waters which is 1000 kms shorter in distance. He added: “there are further projects which increase our connection to the neighboring countries”.

One of the most important projects is Kerman-Zahedan railway.Through this railway East-west Asian countries will be connected to Iran & then they can connect to Europe via Iran.

Mr. Saeednejad said: “We have started Kerman-Zahedan project since the second program years and it has been developing from then onward .  By two months it will be connected to Bam and finally to Zahedan railway. 

He also mentioned that there is another project which connects West Railway to the I.R.I.Railway Network . This project connects Iran to Mediterranean seashores and can be used as an effective and beneficial  line.

Furthermore, research on Qazvin, Rasht, Anzali & Astara railway to connect Iran to Azerbiajan & Russia will be started soon.

In case of buying trains and wagons for Railway Network, He said: “We have already bought 100 new trains and we are going to buy 150 new wagons too”.He finally declared: “For the present time there are 1700 kms two or three line railways in our country”.
