 Geographical position:

Afghanistan is surrounded by land and is located in the north and west of Pakistan and east of Iran. Afghanistan area is 647500 sq.km . This country has 5529 km border line, the most part of which is common with Pakistan . The country also has 1206 km border line with Tajikistan, 936 km with Iran , 744 km with Turkmenistan , 137 km with Uzbekistan , 76 km with China.

 Transportation condition:

Rail : The total length of Afghanistan Rail Ways is 24.60 km which 9.6 km of which connects Kushka / Turkmenistan to Turghundi and 15 km of which connects Termez / Uzbekistan to Heiratan.

Road : Afghanistan highways’ length is totally 21000 km which only 2793 km of which is paved by asphalt.

Also there is 1200 km canal in Amudarya and movement is done by boat. Three main ports in Afghanistan are Heiratan , Shirkhan and Kalaft.

The only Air Line in Afghanistan is the national air line – Ariana. There are 45 airports in Afghanistan which only 10 airports is paved by asphalt. The most important airports are Kabul , Kandahar, Mazar-e-Sharif and Heart.

• Dogharoon – Iran / Islam Qalah – Afghanistan.
• Koshka – Turkmenistan / Turghundi – Afghanistan.
• Aghineh – Turkmenistan / Andkhoy – Afghanistan.
• Termez – Uzbekistan / Galabeh – Afghanistan.
• Khaibar Pass – Pakistan / Turkham
• Chemen / Pakistan – Soleyman Kalay
