To move cargo to western Kazakhstan , using Aktau route is more economical for Kazakhstan is located at Caspian seashore and therefore cargoes can be moved via Caspian Sea. Regarding geographical position of western Kazakhstan and lack of suitable route from Almaty and Astana to western Kazakhstan, KTS suggest the route via Aktau.

The route to western Kazakhstan via Aktau which includes Aksai–Atyrau–Aktyubinsk–Aktau–Tengiz, etc. is as following :

Inland movement : Bandar Abbas – Gorgan – Inche Boron (Iran) Bakdash (Turkmenistan) Aktau(Kazakhstan) and finally all other places in Kazakhstan.

Multimodal movement : Bandar Abbas – Nowshahr – Aktau – any place in Kazakhstan
