Off / loading inflammable matter

 
 

1- The Capitan's of the vessel carrying inflammable materials have to inform type, volume and discharging place to the goods owner/s by a message before arriving to the berth.
2- Agent of shipping line have to provide a list of volume, type and the warehouse that cargo should be kept on the vessel, goods owner/s and information that if cargo will be shipped to directly to another country or not, the arrival of the vessel has been informed to goods owner/s or not and send it in written to port office.
3- The hazardous cargoes are as below:
exploring materials – 2 degrees, compressed gas, liquid or compressed liquid – 3rd degree, inflaming liquids – 4th degrees, inflaming liquids and solids and inflaming and wet gases – 5th degree, the oxide materials and peroxide- 6th degree, poisons and its effective materials, 7th degree, radioactive materials, 8th degree, the digestion materials- 9th degree other hazardous items.
4- The packages, drums and boxes which full fit with inflaming cargoes, should be signed and packed as per accepted international regulations.
5- Off/loading of inflaming cargoes, at harbor or berth, needs especial permission from port office, and during discharging, the especial custom authorities and one of the ship's authorities should be presented.
6- The vessels carrying inflaming cargoes, during off/loading, at the harbor or berth, a red flag with the size of more than 5 m2 should be flied in front of vessel, and in night, a red light should be instead of flag.
7- Each vessel carrying inflaming cargoes and is off/loading, shouldn’t lighten any fire except the ship's engine, that should be under control, and also smoking is firmly forbidden.
8- A team of firefighters should be prepared while a vessel is loading or discharging flammable cargos, and also there should be an agent of Capitan, and all firefighting equipment should be prepared while loading and discharging.




9-All the ships, boats and barges which consist of explosive materials, shouldn't traffic in port at night and only from dawn up to sunset can traverse in port. By the way, while traverse or stopping in the morning they should raise the red flag according to article No 6.

10. While discharging or loading explosive materials in to vessel the store, staircase and deck should be cleaned. The nailed shoes shouldn't be used.

11. The explosive materials shouldn't be moved during night hours in port area and warehouses, also the weight of these materials shouldn't be more than 20 MT in barge or boat.

12. Drunken or addicted people are not permitted to load or discharge the vessel or barge consists of explosive materials.

13. The warehouse's doors of vessels, barges or boats which carry explosive materials, should be controlled and while loading or discharging just the related door should be open and others should be closed.

14. All the explosive material which don't load or discharge from the vessel should discharge and be kept in barge.

15. Hazardous explosive materials shouldn't be kept in warehouses, port area or near the jetty.
