Loading& Discharging

Different stage of delivery the cargo from loading time till the customs formalities and clearance of the cargo are as follow:

1) Especial clerk as Tally Clerk will mention all details of cargo such as sign, destination port, number of packages or boxes and also appearance of the cargo or the boxes in the special cards while loading. This action should be done precisely, because if any mistake happens in mentioning the cargo list , Bill of loading will be issued for the shipment which hasn't entered the vessel and as the B/L is as receipt of the cargo delivery to vessel, the consignee can claim to receive the cargo as B/L's list and in this case the in charge person should prove that this cargo hasn’t load and this is a hard job.
2) Especial record cards are show the list and details of loaded cargo, dimension of the boxes and the weight of the cargo on which freight rate will be calculated. If any difference occurs between the cargo weight , mentioned in record cars, and the weight which shipper informed this deference should be checked and solved in the loading port.
3) Above mentioned cards will be sent to the shipping line's office in jetty after finishing the loading of shipment in vessel. In this office they will compare the details of the shipments which want to discharge in each port with the details which was mentioned in the B/L.
4) After loading the shipment as mentioned in the B/L, the B/L will be signed and details of the shipment will be mention in manifest of vessel. Details which will mention in manifest is signs of cargo, numbers of it, weight of it, content of boxes, name of shipper and consignee and also brief information which is needed at the destination country for governors.
5) For easing and speeding delivery of shipment to the consignee in destination, a map which shows how the shipments are stored in warehouse of vessel will be designed in origin port which shows the position of each shipment in vessels warehouse. This position will be upon the priority in discharging. It means that the shipments which will discharge at the first ports will load in above part of vessels and the shipments which should be discharge in later ports will load in the lower parts in it. This is important that the lighter shipments load on the heavier ones. Off course this matter is regarding the general cargoes and it is not about the shipment which carry in break bulk form because warehouse of break bulk vessels have just one floor but the vessels which carry general cargo or metals have 2 or 3 floors and because of this matter in these kinds of vessels the shipments will load according to their priority of discharge.
6) Sea freight rate will calculate base on weight of shipment or dimension of boxes or value of the shipment and other charges maybe added such as clearance charge and some times extra charge of conference will be added too.
7) After arrival of the vessel in destination port the consignee will submit the original OB/L to the shipping line or agent of them and shipping line or its agent will issue delivery order in the favor of consignee and then the consignee will deliver his shipment by presence of this delivery order and original B/L to the customs authorities and also he should do the related formalities such as cargo clearance in customs and paying customs tax and duty for getting green permit of customs.
